NATURAL STONE "2 Medaglie"

Quartz is the abrasive material most frequently occurring in nature. However only few natural stones have the correct relation between quartz and carbonates (bonding agents); a perfect equilibrium that the natural stones of our production achieve.
The natural characteristics of the stones are still emphasised by the use with water, which, reacting with the lime, removes it slightly, leaving the abrasive quartz granulates permanently exposed. All this allows a quick and perfect cleaning of the stone, whereby the abrasive characteristics are permanently maintained.

Quality of the natural stone "2 Medaglie":
High quartz content with homogeneous distribution of the sharp-edged quartz grains of only few tenths of a Micron, giving a high friction ability also after long use. This characteristics allow easy, clean and durable performances.

Application: with water.

Cleaning: leave stone to soak in water and vinegar for about 12 hours.

ORIGINAL ARKANSAS HARD

The natural "Arkansas" stone has been used since antiquity for its very fine granulometry and its homogeneous distribution of the silicon particles.
These characteristics guarantee an exact cross section without burr on any type of blades, where perfect sharpening is desired.

Application: with low viscosity oil, specific for natural stones.

Back

ORIGINAL ARKANSAS SOFT

It possesses similar characteristics as the "Arkansas Hard" but with larger silicon particles, which are a few tenths of a Micron bigger. Being a softer stone it can be applied to a wide range of applications.
Its main characteristics are: fast removal of metal, high friction ability, which permits a fast sharpening of blades and cut-off tools.

Application: with pure low thickness oil, specific for natural stones. For a short use it also can be used dry.

Cleaning: rub stone with sandpaper and water.

NATURAL STONE "Vera Candia"

The origin of the name "Candia" comes from Candia, the ancient name of today's Crete. This stone has been in use already by the natives of Greece, being particularly suitable for sharpening blades and cut-off tools.
Thanks to the finest granulation of its quartz particles, the stone is particularly indicated for sharpening bistoury, razor-blades and all kind of blades, where a professional finishing is desired.

Application: with low viscosity oil, specific for natural stones.

STONE CORUNDUM

an aluminum oxide stone with various granulometries. We suggest the double grain version (180/500), for wide spectrum applications.
The colour (orange, brown, blue, white, etc), is due to the oxide content, which confers a high tenacity. Stone for sharpening particular worn out tools, can also be employed by laymen. We suggest the use of this stone before finishing with natural stones.

Application: dry, oil, petroleum or water.

Cleaning: rub stone with sandpaper and water.

Back

SILICON CARBIDE STONE

this stone is composed of synthetic silicon carbide with ceramic/vetrified bonding agent, available in various granulometries. For wide spectrum applications, we suggest the double grain version (180/500).
Thanks to the characteristics of the silicon carbide, it is suitable for sharpening tools out of extremely hard steels (Widiam etc), avoiding rectification burrs.

Application: dry, oil, petroleum or water.

Cleaning: rub stone with sandpaper and water.
